Market surprised by Reid's Gallagher exit

Reid is fifth person to leave UK Retail CEO role in five years.

Experts across the market have said they were taken aback by the news that Stuart Reid has left Arthur J. Gallagher after a year in the role of UK Retail CEO.

"It's a bit of a surprise, he has only been there for a year and it was a big high-profile announcement," an unnamed broker said.

"Several high-profile people have had that role over the years with Brendan McManus, Janice Deakin, Peter Blanc and now Stuart," the broker continued.

"It seems to be a tough challenge whatever the objectives
