Principal buys motorcycle book from A & A Group

Deal is insurer's third acquisition in 2016.

Principal Insurance has purchased the A & A Group's Complete Bike Cover motorcycle book.

The provider said that the deal, which is its third acquisition of this year, brings over 2,000 motorcycling policyholders to the Manchester-headquartered company.

According to Principal, A & A sold the book in order to concentrate on its core car, van and home insurance business.

The same commercial logic was cited by vendors when Principal acquired BikeTeam from iGo4 and Simply Insurance's motorcycle book
