5) Flood Excess Insurance launched

Flood Excess Insurance, an appointed representative of Advent Solutions Management, was launched with the aim of enabling UK businesses to mitigate against increase in excesses.

It highlighted that while the government-backed Flood Re scheme is working to ensure insurance remains affordable for residential homes in flood-prone areas, business property is excluded from the scheme.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
