UK Broker Awards: Trophy helped Morrison win business

Flutes of champagne

Firm reveals that its trophy for chartered broker in 2014 has led to a number of new clients.

Morrison director Mark Horgan revealed that its 2014 UK Broker Award for chartered broker has led to the company winning a number of new customers.

Horgan said that the trophy helped boost client numbers and also bolstered the company's relationships with insurers leading to more opportunities.

He commented: "It's not easy and entering is work but if you win you have a unique selling point (USP) and we are all looking for that USP. If you are good and doing things enter and let the industry see you."

Work
The director revealed that Morrison had put a lot of work into its entry after being highly commended in 2013. He said: "We went in there hoping we were going to do better than 2013 but I would not say we expected to win."

When the company's name was read out he admitted that he, along with his colleague, jumped up and celebrated "like lunatics".

"I felt a great sense of satisfaction on the walk to the stage to collect the award," he added.

Morrison, in addition to grabbing new business, has rewarded its staff for the win by adding extra cash to their bonus pot.

Proud
He said: "We have explained how hard it is to win and told them they should be very proud of what they have done.

"Only 5% of brokers are chartered so to become chartered and win the award - you can't ask for a higher accolade."

The big day this year is one 25 September at The Brewery and Horgan urged brokers to enter adding that the ceremony, which he has attended five years on the trot, is "enjoyable and an excellent networking opportunity".

Don't forget to enter to get a chance to win a trophy at the UK Broker Awards 2015.
