FOS figures show two thirds of complaints are still PPI

Insurer complaint figures detailed by the Ombudsman service.

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) took on a total of 161,649 new cases in the 6 months to 31 December 2014, and 65% of them, 104,877 cases, were about payment protection insurance (PPI).

The average uphold rate, where the FOS found in the consumer's favour, was 52%.

The published data includes the number of complaints received about named individual businesses and the percentage of resolved complaints the FOS upheld in the customer's favour against those business.
