Wesleyan promotes Ahmed Farooq to GI broking managing director role

New MD raises possibility of mergers and acquisitions.

Wesleyan has promoted Ahmed Farooq to the new role of managing director of its general insurance brokering business.

Farooq, who has worked for the financial services specialist for five years, was previously head of finance and moved into general insurance towards the end of 2013 with a brief to grow the business.

He joins Wesleyan's executive management team and will report to group sales and marketing director Samantha Porter.
