Marsh tipped as front runner for Towergate takeover talks

Mounting speculation in broker market as to who could buy the troubled consolidator.

Market sources have put Marsh at the front of the pack as to who may takeover Towergate after it put up the 'for sale' sign today.

The rumours have been swirling for several months.

Over the summer one broker told Insurance Age that they were "100% certain" it was true that the two companies had been in talks during 2014.

The source, who declined to be named, said then: "Marsh has, and will continue to look to get Towergate" adding: "It is definitely true they [Marsh] have been in and had a look
