Alan & Thomas buys second Dorchester broker

Company plans to expand its business in the South West further.

Alan & Thomas (A&T) has acquired Casterbridge Insurance in Dorchester.

Corinne Simmonds, one of the two bosses who set up the firm in 1991, will remain in the business along with her team, while Patricia Buglass will retire.

Casterbridge Insurance is A&T's second acquisition in Dorchester in two months. The broker recently bought Arthur Savage Insurance.

The acquisition of Casterbridge takes A&T, which has its headquarters in Poole, to four offices and 66 staff members.
