CMA publishes final report on motor market
Authority cracks down on aggregators, but cannot see remedy for problem of post-accident services costs.
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has published its final report into the private motor insurance market.
The investigation, which was completed by an independent panel, identified a number of measures to improve the sector. They include:
• a ban on agreements between price comparison websites and insurers which stop insurers from making their products available more cheaply on other online platforms
• better information for consumers on the costs and benefits of no-claims bonus
