Marsh warns of "worrying trend" for unrated PI insurers
Marsh has cautioned that the presence of unrated insurers in the small and medium-sized professional indemnity (PI) space is a "worrying trend".
The warning comes amid a period of turmoil for small law firms who have been hit by the recent withdrawals of unrated insurers from the UK PI market.
Earlier this week, Berliner pulled back after only having recently begun writing replacement policies for firms who had previously purchased their cover from Balva, another unrated insurer from Latvia, which lost its operating licenses in June 2013.
