Rural targets local brokers with Aviva appointment
Rural Insurance has snapped up former Aviva man Simon Dixon as a development underwriter as it bids to move closer to brokers.
The specialist agricultural insurer said Mr Dixon's arrival would be the first of four development underwriters it was planning to recruit this year.
Mr Dixon - who previously specialised in agricultural business during his six-year stint at Aviva - will be based in Carlisle.
Speaking about Mr Dixon's arrival, Rural COO Mike Ellis said: "Our strategy is to get closer to our brokers at a time when other providers appear to be consolidating their people into head offices, or into super regional
