Cyber risk expert warns of 'landscape' change

Increased scrutiny and European regulatory changes will soon "change the landscape" of cyber risk insurance.

Speaking at Chubb's cyber seminar, Michael Thyssen, European product manager, Chubb speciality insurance team, cited the looming implementation of European Data Protection Regulation.

He explained that the new directive - which includes compulsory breach notification - is set to be the catalyst behind greater awareness and take-up of cyber risk products.

"There is an increase of regulatory scrutiny and that's going to increase the exposure companies have and one way of mitigating this exposure
