Groupama chief hails performance amid ongoing fight
The chief executive of Groupama UK has hailed a "great performance" despite having to "fight against the whole world".
Francois-Xavier Boisseau revealed that profit growth on the insurance side hit 38% during the first six months of this year and said the figures were "testament" to the support of staff and brokers.
The figures came two months after the UK business was hit by a downgrade by Standard and Poor's (S&P), while uncertainty continues to surround its up-for-sale future.
But Mr Boisseau insisted: "We felt as if we had to fight against the whole world, [there was] a lot of wind in front of us.
