Direct Line enters telematics market

Direct Line is offering telematics products to customers following a pilot with sister firm Tracker.

According to sister title Post, based on the success of the pilot, telematics products are now being offered to customers calling the insurer’s Teesside call centre.

A spokeswoman for Direct Line said: “We are not actually advertising it at the moment, but when people phone into our call centre it is offered to them as an option of saving money and helping us with our research.

“It is very much still a learning process and we want to see how it will work."

She added: “It is an important step
