UK insurance will have to go east to maintain dominance

The UK insurance industry will have to go east in the future if it wishes to retain its global pre-eminence.

That was the opinion of a high profile panel debate at the Insurance Institute of Manchester’s centenary celebration conference held on 9 March.

The panel, made up of Chris Hanks, general manager, Allianz Commercial, Steve White, head of compliance and training at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association and a surprise appearance from Brendan McManus ahead of his assumption of the role of Giles CEO, looked at the public image of insurance, the impact of regulation and how the industry must

Brokers upbeat on 2024 growth – Aviva

Brokers are more optimistic about growth in the coming year than they have been since before 2020, according to Aviva, with 83% expecting their business to grow compared to 76% last year.
