New name for Quinn following sale

quinn

Quinn Insurance will begin trading under the new name Liberty Direct on 7 November, according to reports.

An article in The Anglo-Celt said the decision on the new name was made in negotiations with bondholders which took place last weekend in Cavan, Ireland, where the insurer’s headquarters are located.

On 6 October the Irish High Court approved the sale of Quinn Insurance to a joint venture of US insurer Liberty Mutual and Anglo Irish Bank.

A Quinn Direct spokeswoman told the Anglo-Celt: “We are on track and the sale is expected to conclude in the coming weeks.”
