Lloyd's underwriter moves to replace capacity

The interior of the Lloyd's building in London

Glemham Underwriting has secured new capacity five months after it parted ways with previous provider, Barbican.

The underwriter has replaced the Barbican capacity, which began to be wound down in May this year, with facilities with Catlin Syndicate 2003, Argo Syndicate 1200 and Aviva.

The Catlin and Argo capacity will augment the existing professional indemnity (PI) arrangements with Hiscox and Argo Syndicate 1200 while Aviva will come in to back the liability and property insurance business.

The news about Aviva’s involvement follows the insurer's recent moves to reaffirm its commitment to the liability
