Insurers must simplify product info, says Unum

Backed by the Plain English Campaign, Unum commissioned research into consumers' ability to understand product information.

Almost half of all respondents questioned said they found insurance product information difficult to understand.

A spokeswoman for the Plain English Campaign said it was working with, intially Unum, to produce a insurance guide for consumers.

She continued: "The insurance industry is a high rating gobbledygook user and we have received a lot of complaintsts from consumers
