Aviva fills commercial director post

Aviva’s UK chief risk officer has been lined up to take over the vacant commercial director role in November.

Aviva confirmed to Insurance Age's sister title Post that Craig Thornton will take on the postion. Mr Thornton previously reported to Cathryn Riley before she stepped down as commercial director in May to take over as chief information officer at group level and join the group executive committee.

Ms Riley was briefly succeeded by David Barral, formerly chief operating officer in Aviva's UK life business. However, Mr Barral quickly returned to the life business to take over as its CEO following

Applied updates on commercial push

Applied Systems has confirmed Arch Insurance is about to enter the pilot phase of onboarding and will be live on the Applied Epic broker management system in April, with Iprism and Ark to follow and more promised in 2024.
