Bupa 'first' claim met with scepticism

Rival private medical insurance providers have expressed surprise at Bupa’s claim to have secured an industry first in its cancer cover limits.

The healthcare giant recently completed a dramatic U-turn by declaring it would cease to cap cancer cover for its corporate schemes after finding that capping cancer left patients, who claimed on their policies, vulnerable at critical points in their treatment.

However, Alistair Sclare, healthcare director at Groupama Healthcare said that there was nothing new about the approach.
