Admiral confirms plans to move into household arena

Chief executive of Admiral, Henry Engelhardt, has confirmed that the insurer is planning to move into household insurance.

"We are looking at a household product but I'm not sure if it'll be [launched] this year or next," he told Insurance Age.

In a wide ranging interview for the March edition of the magazine Mr Engelhardt, who defined the product as "embryonic", added that pricing levels and underwriting structure were yet to be finalised but he confirmed that books of business held by brokers would be attacked.

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin

Aviva is committed to pushing on with an “absolute focus on customer” and will continue “doubling down”, David Martin, managing director for UK commercial and chief distribution officer, told Insurance Age as he teased a “major new proposition” pencilled in for the end of the third quarter will catch brokers’ eyes.
