APC aims to double SME book with new underwriting model

APC has implemented a new area rating underwriting strategy for the lower crime level areas throughout the UK and Northern Ireland with the aim of doubling its SME business in five years.

According to the MGA, the move followed a year of planning and extensive consultation with brokers to discover why it had been uncompetitive for business based in low risk areas when compared to other underwriters.

APC said it had developed its own system to analyse risks for each postcode based on claims received over the last nine years for all of its products. The firm said changes to flood and subsidence areas have also been taken into account to allow it to further increase its

Ex-Jensten duo to launch SME MGA with Mission
