UK General reveals plans to grow travel market share

UK General, has appointed Chris Chadwick to head up its travel underwriting team as it seeks to grow its market share in the UK travel insurance market.

Mr Chadwick commented: "Although the travel market remains highly competitive, we are very much open for business after some internal changes at UK General. My top priority is our relationships with the leading travel brokers and working in partnership with them to write high quality, profitable business."

The Leeds-based specialist insurer noted that the travel insurance world in which it is aiming to expand had earned some poor press in 2010 following high profile events such as the BA strikes
