800 redundancies rumoured at Quinn

redundancy

Quinn Insurance administrators have drawn up plans to make about 800 staff redundant, Irish state broadcaster RTE is reporting.

If the rumours are true, the redundancies would make up about one third of the staff employed by the company.

As reported yesterday, staff in all Quinn centres will be briefed on the plans on Friday afternoon. Quinn has said any redundancies would be voluntary and will take place gradually.

Although the jobs affected are reportedly to be mainly in the Republic, the restructuring relates primarily to Quinn Insurance's businesses in the UK.
