Fortis rebrand and expansion on horizon despite profit loss

Fortis UK is to expand its commercial ambitions in the wake of a near £50m drop in profits and ahead of an enforced rebrand.

Speaking at a results briefing in which the insurer reported a drop in non-life profit before tax to £29m (2008: £76m), managing director, Mark Cliff, said Fortis was focused on expanding its commercial product range and, following the launch of its fleet offering at the start of the year, was looking to launch into other segments such as contractors and motor trade.
