Achievement Award - Michael Slack

The winner of this year's Achievement Award has spent his career building his own business, while simultaneously striving to protect the interests of the smaller independent broker

Michael Slack joined the insurance industry back in 1960 and spent eleven years at an insurance company before finally starting his own brokerage in 1980 with a focus on niche products.

Michael has, however, always had a wider interest in the broking sector than just making a profit through his own business. He was a director of the Institute of Insurance Brokers (IIB) for six years and a nationally elected member of the Insurance Brokers' Registration Council (IBRC) for 11 years. He was also on
