Investment company 3I Quoted Private Equity has upped its stake in Jelf Group to 27.9%. Despite the firm's move, it has denied any designs on building its shareholding in the broker to 30%, at which point it would have a controlling interest and be expected to make an offer to take over Jelf. In January, SI QPE announced plans to take a 24.6% holding in Jelf, but it has now increased this stake by purchasing a further 1.7 million shares in the secondary market.
