The Financial Services Authority (FSA) says it has been encouraged by the response to the new online registration facility on its website for brokers seeking direct authorisation. An FSA spokesperson said that 4,500 general insurance and mortgage intermediaries had registered to receive the application pack and obtain the log-on activation code required to apply online in the first month since the facility went live on the FSA's website. The website address is www.fsa.gov.uk/mgi/authorisation
