Allegations that the Financial Services Authority (FSA) is employing 140 people earning more than £100,000 have sparked major criticisms from within the industry.
The high salaries were revealed in the Guardian newspaper in a list that identified public bodies that had staff earning more than £100,000. The FSA came second place behind the BBC.
