Brokers have been urged by a leading QC to scrutinise the professional indemnity policies they have in place to protect them from litigation. James Dingeman, QC, said: "Brokers can take practical steps to avoid litigation but they won't be able to avoid lawyers completely. They must make sure they have a strong PI policy in place." He advised that simple steps could help brokers avoid litigation, such as writing a contract on how and when disputes would be resolved.
