Norwich Union (NU) is to increase its broker on-site underwriting service (Bonus) with a further 100 business account executives (BAEs) during the next 18 months. The service involves BAEs working in a broker's office, providing instant access to the insurer's commercial lines products via an online PC. Janice Deakin, trading director at NU, commented: "We work hand-in-hand with the broker to deliver what its customers need."

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
