Marsh to cut 280 UK jobs
Marsh revealed it would axe 280 UK jobs due to the ongoing fall-out from the Spitzer inquiry in the US and a recent slump in profits. The broker has yet to announce which parts of the workforce the job cuts will affect. Marsh's insurance business will shed 2,000 jobs across the globe, while another 1,000 jobs will also go from Marsh & McLennan subsidiaries.
