Fortis UK has released a statement to allay concerns about the future of its business, saying it will not be affected by the outcome of ongoing negotiations over BNP Paribas' proposed acquisition of Fortis Bank and the Dutch and Belgian governments' intention of purchasing parts of the bank's Dutch and Belgian operations.
