Giles continues expansion in Wales

Giles Insurance Brokers has announced the successful completion of its first Newport acquisition, Hancock General Insurance Services.

This latest move will help further position Giles as the one to watch in 2008, while strengthening its presence on the high street and adding yet more fuel to its ambitious growth plans.

The acquisition of Hancock’s signals the second successful takeover in Wales in the space of a week, highlighting its commitment to further growth in Wales and beyond.

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
