Smaller brokers don't have to lose out - they can gain a competitive advantage through access to a variety of wholesale schemes offered by trade associations such as Biba, says Sarah Hills

It can often be difficult for small regional brokers to take advantage of schemes business. Being a small business with a limited customer base can often be a disadvantage because many don't have the capabilities in size to offer a wholesale scheme, and others can't provide enough business to an insurer to remain an attractive candidate for continuous access to their schemes.
