At LV, the insurer confirmed "trading profits" in its report on the first half of 2010 along with a 56% increase in broker business to £300.6m (H1 2009: £193.1m). General insurance gross written premium was up 37% to £546.4m. Bristol-based broker Brightside Group reported a 24% rise in revenue to £26.6m for H1 2010 (H1 2009: £21.4m) and pre-tax profit up by 33% to £4m.
