Health Shield appoints chief risk officer

Health cash plan provider, Health Shield, has appointed Courtney Marsh as its first chief risk officer.

According to the company, Mr Marsh will be responsible for managing the implementation of Solvency II at Health Shield, including integrating risk management into strategic development processes, identifying key risks facing the organisation and providing relevant training to both board and staff members.

Prior to joining Health Shield, Mr Marsh worked at management consultancy firm, Oliver Wyman, for 11 years.

Brokers have mixed reaction on Zurich/Beazley deal

Insurance brokers have given a mixed response to the potential Zurich/Beazley deal highlighting the acquisition would create a “strong proposition” and could create opportunities but noted another competitor leaving the market as a medium-term worry.
