RSA grows in Q1

RSA has added premiums in both personal and commercial lines

RSA has seen net premiums rise 7% in the UK with overall premiums of £697m in the first quarter of 2010 compared to same period last year. In personal lines, premiums increased by 6% to £280m, with motor up 9% and household 4% as a result of "strong new business levels, rate increases and increased shares on broker panels" according to a RSA statement.

Commercial net premiums were £417m, up 7% on Q1 2009. In commercial, liability was up 6% and motor 19% following an increase in large motor
