PB conference inspires and warns brokers

Emmanuel Kenning revisits the highlights of PB's first full-day conference.

On 15 October, 100 brokers attended PB's first full-day Management Event, hosted at the Victoria Park Plaza in London and chaired by editor Andrew Tjaardstra. At the free event for brokers, attendees heard expert insights on the challenges and opportunities facing them in 2010 as the economy sits at the crossroads between recovery and a double-dip recession.

The brokers' votes seemed to indicate that they are in upbeat mood despite the challenges presented by the recession. Only 19% of delegates

Brokers have mixed reaction on Zurich/Beazley deal

Insurance brokers have given a mixed response to the potential Zurich/Beazley deal highlighting the acquisition would create a “strong proposition” and could create opportunities but noted another competitor leaving the market as a medium-term worry.
