Mayer to leave UK at year's end

It has been another busy month in the world of insurance, writes Andrew Tjaardstra.

Igal Mayer is set to say goodbye to the UK at the beginning of January after landing the top job at Aviva in the US. Mark Hodges takes over as chief executive officer of both its life and general insurance businesses. Hodges knows the broking community well after a previous stint in charge of the general insurance side of just under one year (see our interview with Hodges, PB, April 2006, pp.20-22 or online in the broking.co.uk archive).
