Axa reports drop in overall GWP

Axa reports growth in household on the back of its deal with Marks & Spencer.

Axa has reported a 4% drop in overall gross written premium in its UK general insurance business to £1.06bn in the first half of the year, reports Postonline.

Revenues at Axa Insurance - including Swiftcover, Axa Ireland and Axa PPP - insurance revenues remained flat at £1.87bn in H1 2009.

Within the personal lines intermediary and corporate partnerships areas of Axa UK's general insurance business the main area of growth was in household (up 12%), which it said was largely down to the
