A Sheffield broker manager has said that while the insurance industry's reaction to the summer floods was as good as could have been expected, few will learn the lessons on offer unless serious changes are made to UK flood management systems.

Tony Wood, director of Walker Midgley, said providing risk management advice for clients would be difficult until flood management groups can operate more efficiently.
