Analyst Numis Insurance has predicted increased investor interest in insurance because of strong underwriting earnings despite an uncertain economic environment. Numis said embedded earnings are strong and new business continues to be written at attractive rates. The sector performed well during the market turbulence in the second half of 2002 and the early part of 2003 and many of the positive factors that applied at that time remain today.
