Axa has unveiled disappointing returns for its UK arm, suggesting it
may not have been too upset after chief executive Mark Woods' resignation
in February. Axa's general insurance business fell by £94m as the company
increased reserves to cope with a tougher car market. Mr Woods joined
Prudential shortly before Prudential's acquisition of American General.
