John Oliver, former finance director at UK law firm Eversheds, has
joined actuarial consulting company Bacon & Woodrow as finance director.
Mr Oliver previously spent eight years with the legal partnership, where
he also served as a board and executive committee member. Bacon & Woodrow
has also appointed two specialists from Prudential's Corporate Pensions
Division.


Paul Sturgess previously headed Prudential's national team of 50
consultants, working closely with B&W's other new recruit, Conor Hoey

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association has targeted further regulatory rule simplification in its 2026 Manifesto, as it urged industry wide support of developing a fair value assessment template, and called on the government to deliver a new Financial Services Bill.
