Guildford-based insurer Allianz Cornhill is dropping the Cornhill name from the company and, as a result, from 30 April 2007 it will be known as Allianz to fall in line with its German-based parent.

Andrew Torrance, chief executive officer of Allianz Cornhill, said: "This change will come as no surprise to our customers and business partners. In 2003, we re-branded the company at the corporate level to Allianz Cornhill and this latest development is a natural extension of that decision."
