Following its first anniversary, John Beadle, chairman of the Insurance Fraud Bureau, wants to expand the cross-industry body's remit and create a centralised database for claims relating to commercial vehicles. After successfully linking up data across insurers for private cars, and targeting staged motor accidents, Beadle wants to go further and tackle crime involving commercial vehicles.

Beadle is also helping to set up a database of contacts at insurers for brokers regarding fraudulent
