Mike Crane, director of operations at NIG, urged brokers to take control of growth by ensuring their business model was bang up to date. Crane said the core business model of regional broking was largely static despite call centres, branding, fees, the internet and offshoring, a fact that he claimed sounded the death knell for those with out-of-date models.
Crane added: "The greater the evolution brokers and insurers go through, the more they will gain control."
