Folgate's Germany parent company Wurtembergische AG has merged withGerman bank and buildings society Wustentrot, Ludwisgburg. This nearly
doubles the size of the parent's capitalisation, now standing at £4.3bn. A
spokesman for Folgate said it was not yet known whether the merger would
result in further investment in the Dorset-based insurer.
