Lloyd's will continue to argue for the mandatory disclosure of commissions and has the backing of several insurers and brokers.

In a speech to the Insurance Institute of London, Nick Prettejohn, chief executive of Lloyd's, called for mandatory commission disclosure of the compensation earned on every insurance transaction.

Prettejohn said: "The Financial Services Authority should change their conduct-of-business regime from the current approach of disclosure on request to mandatory disclosure
